Cold Night

Cold night
I don’t abide by you
when I am in nature
sleeping.

Your draft is irritating,
wakes me to cold toes
and I know
to step out
would only encolden
me more
until there are ice cubes
dripping from my nose.

So I pull clothes over my bag
and hug my arms to my torso
a tiny bit of warm.

Morning, come soon,
I abide by you
chase the cold night away.
